Also referred to as multi-family residential, this classification of housing has multiple separate housing units within one building or several buildings within one complex. Common ownership forms of multi-unit housing include apartments and condominiums. Typically, all units in an apartment building have a single owner who leases apartments to tenants, while condominium units are owned individually rather than leased from a single apartment-building owner. Common building forms of multi-unit housing include townhouses, lofts, apartment and condominium buildings and complexes, and mixed-use buildings.
