I know the current comp plan supports a commercial/retail environment on the Santa Fe corridor between Bowles and Mineral. There was obvious community opinions related to the rezoning of the tree farm to allow for a Super Wal Mart a few years ago. I do not support large format retail as that would change the character of Santa Fe, does not seem compatible with several uses along the corridor, and would not be located at an existing major intersection. While Santa Fe is a large road, the existing uses and surrounding uses are rather "quiet". I think it would be best to encourage mixed use to support two nearby existing assests, such as ACC and Denver Seminary. Perhaps zoning to allow for office/institutional, multi-family, and small retail uses.
