I'd like to see more residential diversity and density Downtown, sufficient to attract neighborhood-scale businesses on the streets back from Main and Alamo, serving those who live Downtown and walkable distances away---such as around Sterne Park and the Buck Center. Local custom to those stores likely would expand to add traffic for the Main Street businesses, as well, and with reduced impacts on vehicular traffic and parking. Also, it would be interesting to hear from residents about the concept of allowing small walk-up stores (at intersections, for example) within their specific neighborhoods, such as can be found around older areas of Denver and other small cities and towns around the world. Certainly that wouldn't appeal to all neighborhoods, but it might be healthy and desirable in certain situations.
